Troy Peterson, Band Director at Kickapoo High School, will be retiring at the end of this academic year. Troy has been with SPS for 28 years and will miss seeing the growth in individual students and the friendships he has created with great colleagues. His favorite moments in his career were when students would approach him and say, “band was one of the most special things in my student life.”
Troy wants to encourage fellow educators that it does get a little easier as time goes. “The older you get, the more it will feel like you’re paddling downstream.”
