The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools (FSPS) awards $179,008 to Springfield Public Schools in Back to School Grants. Grants are submitted by educators district wide to receive additional support for their classrooms.
Ninety-seven grants were delivered to 40 SPS sites by over 60 Foundation for SPS volunteers. “Grant Delivery Day allows the Foundation to make educators dream projects and initiatives come true, while encouraging student innovation” said executive director Natalie Murdock. “These projects help fill gaps, and support the district’s goals and priorities. The Back to School program would not be possible without the support of our incredible donors! I am so grateful to everyone who has supported this program!”
“Projects are educator-driven and student-focused” said Matt Hudson, FSPS board president. “As a previous educator, I have been in their shoes and know the impact the Foundation for SPS and their donors have on the classroom. Having the opportunity to come back now as a board member, community partner and parent makes today more impactful.”
The Back to School grant program is made possible by generous donations from community members, businesses and individuals. “The FSPS vision is to promote educational excellence for every child by working with the public school system and the community. Our Back to School Grant Program is the perfect example of this collaboration,” said Murdock
