FSPS is proud to announce our 2020 Linda Luke Librarian of the Year recipients Nicole Bueno and Samantha Donnalley from Glendale High School!

Ms. Bueno and Ms. Donnalley have demonstrated an attitude that emanates caring and concern for their community. They have a deep commitment for their work and seek out ways to support teaching and learning opportunities for their students. Each of these qualities are required qualifications for the Linda Luke Librarian of the Year award and they have surpassed them.

One nominator said, “Ms. Bueno and Ms. Donnalley work with my grandson on his reading, help him with homework, and allow him a safe place in the school. He has a good relationship with them and he looks forward to talking to them and spending time in the library.” Another said, “They are advocates for literacy, champions for all learning, and role models for students. There is no one who exemplifies what it means to be a lead learner, a librarian, a media specialist, and just amazing educators.”

The Linda Luke Librarian Fund was established in 1997 by Dr. Robert Luke in memory of his wife. Linda Luke served as librarian and teacher at Hickory Hills and Disney Elementary for nearly ten years.

Ms. Bueno and Ms. Donnalley will be recognized at our 2020 Celebrate SPS Banquet on Monday, August 31, 5:30 pm, at the Oasis Convention Center. To purchase tickets, please visit Celebrate SPS.
