Ferne Westbrooke Memorial Scholarship

Parkview High School

Established in 1973 by the family and friends of Mrs. Westbrooke, this scholarship is in honor of her and her time as an educator. She was a life-long, dedicated teacher. She taught English at Parkview High School from the day it opened in 1956. She had previously taught at Jarrett Junior High.

In order to apply for the Ferne Westbrooke Scholarship you must answer yes to the following questions:

1. Are you a senior at Parkview High School?
2. Are you planning to continue your education post high school?
3. Are you planning to major in education?
4. Do you rank in the top 25% of your class?
5. Have you demonstrated good citizenship, leadership, dependability, initiative, perseverance and
seriousness of purpose? (this should be addressed in your essay)
6. Have you demonstrated financial need relative to college expenses? (this should be addressed in your essay)

*Please note preference may be given to applicants interested in in language arts education.
