The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools team will be taking a short winter break to recharge! ❄️

Our office will be closed starting Wednesday, December 24th through Friday, January 2nd. We will reopen and resume normal business hours on Monday, January 5th.

✨ Planning a Year-End Gift? Even though our office is closed, you can still make your tax-deductible donation for 2025!

Foundation for Springfield Public Schools

Just when they thought grant season was over… we had a big surprise in store – Winter Grant Delivery Day!! ❄️ 🎁

Thanks to a generous grant and incredible funding from our donors 🙌, The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools was able to award a surprise second round of funding totaling nearly $90,000!

Our team hit the road to surprise teachers right in their classrooms with checks for their Back-to-School Grant projects. To add to the excitement, we also awarded Impact Grants to support larger, school-wide initiatives across the district! 🏫🚀

From sensory rooms and STEM projects to ukuleles and outdoor learning spaces, these funds are going to make a massive difference for our students. 🎓

🎉 Congratulations to the educators and staff at: Reed, Mann, Fulbright, Pershing, Rountree, McBride, Delaware, Boyd, Phelps, Truman, Hillcrest, Study, Pipkin, Westport, Weaver, and Pleasant View! 👏

That’s how many of the new "History Comes Alive!" books were picked up by students at Wilson’s Creek Intermediate School this year. Thanks to a Foundation Back-to-School grant, Mrs. Melson filled the shelves with high-demand historical fiction and non-fiction.

But the numbers only tell half the story. As one student shared: "I read the Marie Curie book and it taught me that women can do the same things as men can do." 💡

The impact? Over 65% of students reported that their interest in history INCREASED after reading these books. 🚀

Music makes a difference. You can too. 🎼

Research shows that music students often outperform peers in math, reading, and critical thinking. But beyond grades, the band program at Central High School teaches collaboration 🤝, emotional regulation, and discipline.

We believe every student deserves the chance to learn music 🎵, regardless of their financial situation.

The Central High Band tries to keep fees as low as possible for their diverse student population, but with the loss of fundraising revenue from the canceled football season, they are facing a shortfall. They need funding for truck rentals, instrument repairs, and basic equipment.

Let’s rally behind these musicians and give them the resources they need to succeed.
