Judith Irwin came from a family that prioritized education.  She spent 35 years working for Springfield Public Schools, 10 years as a teacher and 25 years as a counselor and psychological examiner.  She began teaching in 1959 and worked on everything from helping at-risk children to identifying gifted students.  She enjoyed playing bridge, supporting MSU Bears sports and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

 

 

 

In order to apply for the Next Step Scholarship you must answer yes to the following questions:

1. Are you a senior at a Springfield Public Schools high school?
2. Are you planning to attend a college, university, technical/trade school, certification program or
apprenticeship program?
3. Have you had obstacles and/or hardships, either personal or financial?
4. Do you have limited resources and have a need for financial support?

*Students with a 504 Plan are encouraged to apply.

If you answered no to any of these questions you are not eligible for this scholarship. If you answered
yes to each question you may proceed to the application.
