October 2023 Hall of Fame Inductee
Dr. David L. Harrison was inducted into the 2023 SPS Hall of Fame. He is a 1955 graduate of Central High School. He has authored and published more than 100 books, fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, and was named Missouri Poet Laureate by Governor Mike Parson in July 2023. See the full article HERE.
Central Robotics Receives $4,200 Back to School Grant from FSPS
This year the Foundation for SPS awarded $179,000 to schools across Springfield including Central High School who received over $4,000 to support the Robotics Team. Over the last three years the Foundation has provided over $20,000 to the CHS Robotics team. This funding helps the team compete in tournaments, purchase needed equipment and supplies, and supports outreach opportunities to elementary and middle schools.
