On Wednesday, May 10, the FSPS hosted our first annual Back to School Grant Showcase featuring grants that were awarded during the 2022-2023 school year. Attendees were able to learn about the impact donation dollars had in the classroom and the 25,000 students in Springfield Public Schools.

This year, the FSPS awarded $257,187 to educators across the district. At the showcase, over $43,000 in grants were present.

“Being able to see the ideas our educators submitted in their grants go from a dream to reality shows the impact donations have in the classroom.” said Natalie Murdock, executive director. “Our educators are preparing to close the books for the 2022-2023 school year and are already dreaming about the 2023-2024 school year.”

These grants were made possible through our Back to School Grant Program. This program is the FSPS yearly grant program open to certified employees and principles in Springfield Public Schools. It provides financial support to teachers and students in the areas of general classroom projects, community & family engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion, literacy, mental health, STEAM, and student experiences.
