PTA Joan Keiser Scholarship

Glendale High School

Originally established by Springfield Council of PTAs in 1993 to honor a respected Springfield PTA leader, Joan Keiser. Joan served as Council president 1973-1975, and as Missouri PTA president 1983-1985.  This scholarship is awarded to a graduating SPS senior who plans to enroll in an accredited full course of study in a Missouri liberal arts college or university; this scholarship rotates annually among the Springfield R-12 high schools.  Recipient must show need for financial assistance and shall be determined by the high school’s staff scholarship committee.

In order to apply for the PTA Joan Keiser Scholarship, you must answer yes to the following:

  • Are you a graduating senior from Springfield Public Schools?
  • Liberal arts colleges focus on broad learning across multiple subjects while also allowing students to specialize in a major. Are you accepted into a Missouri liberal arts college or university?
  • Do you have financial need relative to college expenses? (This should be addressed in your answers.)

If you answered no to any of these questions you are not eligible for this scholarship. If you answered
yes to each question you may proceed to the application.
