- Description:
I am moving from 2nd grade (16 years) to 4th grade. I visited RonClarkAcademy in Atlanta, GA with the Sonic Foundation Teachers’ Grant. I was #ronclarkinspired at the engagement and enthusiasm of the students there. You could literally feel the joyous vibe. I want to recreate what I saw. Each classroom there had a stage, fun lighting, bongo drums, and furniture conducive to both collaboration and active learning. Teachers were having fun teaching and students were having fun learning.
- Need Represented: This project will increase engagement and intrinsic desire to be at school for our 4th grade students...which in turn should increase our academic results.
- Academic Impact: This will improve student learning by increasing engagement and pure desire to be AT school.
- Student Population: 25-30 9-10 year old students assigned to my classroom EACH year so potentially could reach hundreds of McBride students
