The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools is proud to feature board member Dr. Kendall Bennett, a Learning Business Consultant at Cardinal Health/Sonexus APS, whose roots in our community run deep. As a third-generation Springfield Public Schools alumna now raising a fourth-generation student, her commitment to our schools is a family legacy.
Dr. Bennett’s dedication is rooted in her 17-year career as a public educator, first as a teacher and later as a Title I Learning Coach. She firmly believes that the entire community must collectively commit to providing a robust educational experience for all students. For her, serving on the Foundation board is a way to stay true to these values and continue her support for the district’s schools, teachers, and students.
She is especially passionate about the Foundation’s ability to fund teacher grants and student scholarships, which bridge financial gaps left by traditional budgets. Dr. Bennett envisions a thriving SPS where these funds provide hands-on learning experiences, allowing students to see lessons play out in real life. She believes these opportunities help students envision new educational and career paths and, most importantly, show them that their community values their success.
Dr. Bennett believes this community support helps students walk into school every day with pride and confidence. Her direct advice to every student is simple but powerful: “Kid, you are loved, you are valued, and you are going to go far! Keep shining, and we will be right here behind you, cheering you on!”
