FSPS Announces 2025 Award Finalists and Honorees

The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools is honored to announce the finalists and honorees for its annual Celebrate SPS awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to education within Springfield Public Schools and the wider community. These awards acknowledge the dedication, skill, and impact of educators, librarians, community partners, and advocates.

This year’s recognition highlights exceptional individuals across several categories:

Linda Luke Librarian of the Year

The Linda Luke Endowment fund was established to honor the memory of Linda Luke and her belief that “Librarians are teachers, too!”, this award celebrates school librarians who demonstrate a profound commitment to students and the educational community.

Turner Reading Teacher of the Year

The Turner Reading Award fund was established by the Turner family, this award is presented to teachers who not only excel in teaching vital reading skills but also succeed in igniting a lifelong passion for reading in their students.  

Foundation for Springfield Public Schools also proudly recognizes the crucial role of community partners.

Corporate Partner of the Year: Liberty Games is honored for their steadfast commitment to education and significant generous support, which has created a positive impact on students throughout the Springfield community.

Advocate for Education: Queen City Free Runners will receive this award for their outstanding dedication to enhancing educational opportunities and championing the needs of Springfield’s students and educators, demonstrated through generous donations to the Bus Transportation Fund and Coats for Kids Fund. 

Congratulations to all the exceptional finalists and honorees! These individuals and organizations represent the best of Springfield’s commitment to education. They will be formally celebrated at the Foundation’s upcoming Celebrate SPS event on May 2, 2025 alongside honors awarded by the SPS district.
