We are excited to share that Michelle Cheeney, librarian at Pipkin Middle School, was honored as the Linda Luke Librarian of the Year in April 2024 at Celebrate SPS, and the Linda Luke Traveling Trophy has now officially made its way to her from the previous recipient! 

Established in 1997 in memory of Linda Luke, a dedicated librarian and teacher, this award honors a librarian who exemplifies caring, concern, and innovation in their work. Michelle embodies these qualities in every way.
Her innovative projects, including global read-aloud sessions and interactive lessons, have transformed Pipkin’s library into a dynamic hub of exploration and learning. Her commitment to supporting both students and teachers has fostered a thriving environment where curiosity and learning go hand in hand. 



Michelle’s caring nature shines through her work, creating a welcoming and supportive space for the entire Pipkin community. We are incredibly proud to celebrate Michelle’s passion for education and her dedication to making a difference.
