Melissa Mott, Reed Academy

After 31 years in education, 10 within Springfield Public Schools, Melissa Mott will retire at the end of the year. Melissa is currently a special education teacher at Reed Academy. One of her favorite memories from her time with SPS were the field trips to Camp Wakanda that she was able to take with students. When her retirement begins, she will miss her SPED team at Reed, friends, coworkers, setting up her classroom and, most of all, her students.

Melissa wants to encourage those that are returning next year to be kind to those around you. “Remember to be kind, you may be the only kind word a student or coworker hears during the day. You have a hard job, you have a big job, but it is a great job.”

Thank you for your dedication to students, Melissa!

Happy Retirement!
