Welcome to on of the newest members of the Foundation for SPS Board of Directors, Crystal Sharp!
Crystal was born and raised in Springfield. She is a proud Hornet alumna and currently works for Commerce Bank as the Senior Vice President, Commercial Loans.
Crystal joined our board of directors because she believes education is an important issue for our community and society. “We have great resources in Springfield and we all need to do our part to make sure that kiddos have all they need to be engaged future leaders.” said Crystal. “Supporting children and helping them to build confidence will allow them to excel, which in the end benefits everyone.”
Community support for the Foundation for SPS is important for Crystal because the grants, scholarships, and overall support that the Foundation for SPS provides is important for educators and students. “The Foundation has really done a good job with events such as Lunch & Learn and the social media posts showcasing all the positive aspects that the Foundation does for the District. We really need the community to understand all of the good that comes from their partnership and how their donations impact lives. The Foundation does a really good job of fundraising and showcasing how those funds positively affect our community and I want to be a part in helping that trend to continue.”
Prior to joining our board of directors, Crystal served as a member on our advisory council. Through her time on advisory council, Crystal served on our Celebrate SPS: Teacher Appreciation Banquet committee where she helped plan our annual event. “I love that it is a celebratory event that brings together all of those that make SPS the shining star that it is. I also really think the “Teacher of the Year” spotlight is so rewarding for those teacher that strive to do their best all year and then get to be recognized for all of their hard work.”
