National Service-Learning Conference

National Service-Learning Conference

  • Description:

Students from Study have been selected to present at the National Service-Learning Conference about our annual Empty Bowls event. Students will be able to network with other students, learn about service-learning projects from across the United States and have the opportunity to share about our school and programs. This is an amazing opportunity for students and we are looking for funds to pay for the registration, hotel, and transportation costs for our students.

  • Need Represented: This is a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity for our students. The service-learning conference will provide the students with educational and leadership experiences. They will also have the chance to represent our school at this national event. Students will use speaking and listening skills that directly relate to our ELA standards.
  • Academic Impact: They will have the chance to practice both ELA speaking and listening skills while learning from a variety of students and adults. Students will show mastery of speaking standards during their presentation and will also use reading, writing and research skills as they prepare for the presentation.
  • Student Population: Study serves a diverse group of 9th -12th grade students from all five high schools in Springfield. Students come to our school for a variety of reasons. Our students represent all of Springfield and are excited to present about the ways we support our community. We appreciate your support as we try and raise all the funds needed in order to ensure each student is able to participate.
