Kindergarten Kindness Cart

Kindergarten Kindness Cart

  • Description:

I would love to take a few children around the school each Friday delivering snacks and drinks to the staff. The kids who are picked each week will be ones who have met a behavior or academic goal. It would teach my class about kindness, helping others, and acknowledging others for their hard work.
In addition to this, the Kindness Cart will also build our language and social skills, math and language skills, counting and sorting skills, and give us practice comparing and counting totals. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

  • Need Represented: I feel the COVID pandemic over the last 2 years has reduces the amount of social interactions that many of our young children would typically have. This cart will provide them with the opportunity to practice these skills and hold conversations with the adults in our building. I also can't think of a better way to build staff morale in my building than smiling 5 year old's handing someone their favorite treat after a long week.
  • Academic Impact: This project will impact students by teaching kindness, helping others, and acknowledging others for their hard work. In addition to this, the Kindness Cart will also build our language and social skills, math and language skills, counting and sorting skills, and give us practice comparing and counting totals.
  • Student Population: We have approximately 60 kindergarten students each year, ages 5-6 from a variety of socio economic levels.
