- Description:
To support our district goal in improving student reading, we would like to have Author Izzy B come speak at our school about his book “The Mighty McKracken”. He will discuss his creative journey and explore the book’s fun message about the importance of GOOD MANNERS, even for pirates!
- Need Represented: This will support the district goal of providing opportunities for literacy and extended learning.
- Academic Impact: Author visits can increase children's engagement with reading and writing. This increase in engagement can cause students to improve in reading and writing.
- Student Population: This project is for 6, 7, 8, and 9 year olds in their developmental years of learning to read. The students who will benefit from this presentation live in the northmost part of Springfield within the Truman School boundaries.
