This spring, the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools (FSPS) celebrated a massive milestone in student support, awarding 105 scholarships totaling $267,000 to deserving graduating seniors across the district. Made possible by the generosity of local community donors, these significant awards are funded through permanent endowments designed to foster higher education and create lasting opportunities. 
These vital scholarships represent nearly half of the Foundation’s managed funds, which provide critical, long-term support for both students and the entire district. “These awards are more than financial aid—they are a permanent investment in our students’ potential, allowing these deserving seniors to focus entirely on their future success.” shared Natalie Murdock, Executive Director of FSPS.
A beautiful example of this community legacy is the Devon Roberson Memorial Viking Singer Scholarship. Established in 2015, this specific fund honors Devon’s memory by helping a passionate Parkview High School choir senior cover expenses as they transition from the high school choir room to a college campus.
