When applying for an Impact Grant, you can choose one of the following topics or descriptors to help us know the main focus of your project. If none of these fit your project, you’ll choose “Other” and fill in a descriptor that describes your project.

 

AthleticsAny project that supports literacy needs, including educational programs and initiatives; professional development for teaching literacy, speakers, etc.

Arts & Creative Expression – Student creativity and visual/performing arts (dance, digital/media arts, music, theater, visual arts, etc.).

Community & Family Engagement – Promotes and supports family and/or community outreach & cohesiveness to enhance the success of students.

Core Academics – Foundational classroom learning and subject-area instruction (math, reading, science, social studies/history, agriculture, family & consumer sciences, etc.)

Literacy & Language – Reading, library, speech & debate, languages, etc. Projects that support literacy & language needs, including educational programs and initiatives; professional development for teaching literacy or languages.

Mental Health – Education for understanding, managing, and promoting emotional well-being; including coping strategies, support, awareness, and programming.

Physical Activity – Movement, fitness, and sports-related programming (PE, sports, athletics, etc.).

STEM – Hands-on, applied, and future-ready skill development (STEM, engineering, robotics, technology, electronics, virtual reality, etc.)

Student AttendanceProjects aimed at supporting a positive classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning.

Student Behavior SupportsSupport for positive classroom environments conducive to teaching and learning.

Student Connection & Leadership – Projects that build peer relationships, mentorship, leadership, school connectedness, and support for transitions from one school to another.

Student Experience – Projects that include field trip experiences aimed at increasing the academic success of students.

Technical or Vocational Learning – Educational efforts that prepare students for jobs based in manual or practical activities. This is seen in specialized instruction focused on preparing students for specific trades, occupations or careers.

 

Projects in any of these areas can include education in or outside of the classroom, professional development/training, and/or other initiatives that improve educational capacity, innovation, and/or effectiveness for the students. All Impact Grants should be building level projects.
