The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools’ Board of Directors announced this week that Natalie Murdock will be the Foundation’s new Executive Director. Murdock has served as the Development Director for the organization for the past seven years and has overseen the Back to School grant campaign, the Teacher Appreciation Banquet, the implementation of several new programs and the Sip & Shop Champagne Brunch. Her first day as Executive Director was January 5.

Murdock will take the place of Jana Bachus who served as the Executive Director for three years. In Murdock’s new role as Executive Director she will be responsible for the Foundation’s achievement of its mission and financial objectives. “The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools has followed some other outstanding local organizations in appointing new leadership to bring forth great things in 2015 and beyond. After a lengthy search, we ultimately chose from within and promoted Natalie Murdock to lead that charge. Her passion and enthusiasm for the students in the district contributed to the decision, not to mention, her many successes during her tenure with our organization,” said Jeff Shore, Foundation Board President. “Springfield Public Schools is a great district to serve. And we live in an extremely generous community which believes in the quality of our public education system. I am looking forward to this opportunity and expect great things for the future of our Foundation,” said Murdock.

The Foundation is currently seeking a new Development Director. Interested individuals should contact nmurdock@spsmail.org or visit the Foundation’s website. Resumes will be accepted until January 19th. The new Development Director will be responsible for the fundraising and marketing activities of the Foundation.
