Beginning Wednesday, July 1st, Price Cutter will host the Dollar Days event to benefit the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools. Starting Wednesday, through July 14th Price Cutter customers will have an opportunity to support students and teachers by donating $1, $3 or $5 to benefit the Foundation’s Back to School grant program which will provide classroom and school grants this September.
This is the third year Price Cutter has hosted the event to benefit students. “The partnership with Price Cutter allows our community to make a special impact on students. Simply by giving at the register, we have the opportunity to support over 25,000 students. The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools simply could not provide resources for students and teachers without this support and we are grateful!” said Natalie Murdock, executive director.
The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools will award grants in September. This year the Foundation received over $500,000 in requests from teachers and principals across the district for a variety of projects, equipment and technology needs. Last year the Foundation awarded nearly $300,000. Funds for this program are raised through donations from businesses and individuals in the community.
